Caterpillars and Butterflies

Since the beginning of the term Room 1 has had caterpillars in the class. We have two kinds - Monarch Butterfly Caterpillars and Gum Emperor Moth caterpillars. We have done lots of watching them eat, split skins, eat more, get bigger and bigger and bigger, escape from their plants, make themselves into a chrysalis and a cocoon and some have hatched. Then we set them free. Following are some photos of our most recent butterfly.
